Responding to Censorship of ex-LGBT Ministries and Allies

Daren Mehl is joined by Jeremy Schwab, founder of Joel 2:25 Ministries who today, like a dozen other ministries and allies, had their Facebook page removed without warning. The ex-LGBTQ community is the canary in the mine of Christian persecution. The LGBTQ lobby is probably the largest influencer running the narratives of anti-Christian testimony, anti-Christian discipleship, and anti-Christian evangelism.

Daren and Jeremy go through several articles the LGBTQ lobby has put out as targets their community for erasure by big tech. Daren shows videos that this censorship in the name of ‘conversion therapy bans’ has always targeted the Church and Christians. And there is crazy amount of evidence that change is possible, even a leading LESBIAN researcher is trying to end the ‘born gay, can’t change’ narrative.

Whoever Said You Can “Pray the Gay Away”? A Film Review of Netflix’s Pray Away | Christian Research Institute

For all of its claims to object to the harmful practice of “conversion therapy,” the LGBTQ social/political movement has the more ambitious goal of ending any public condemnation of homosexuality itself, including (and especially) such condemnation from the pulpit. On this point we should remember the apostle Paul’s closing remarks in his farewell address to the elders at Ephesus. Remembering his years of service to them, he recalled, “Therefore, I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:26–27).

The “Born Gay” Money-Money Making Fraud

Despite claims in the media that people are born gay, this is a myth perpetuated by left-wing organizations to make money. Another myth is that counseling away from same-sex attraction involves shock therapy. Yet six liberal states have outlawed life-changing therapy for homosexuals. Former homosexual and licensed therapist Chris Doyle, who is now married and the father of five, explains the stakes for America’s children.

PUBLIC STATEMENT AND REQUEST FOR FORMAL CLARIFICATION BY MOZILLA CORPORATION REGARDING THE RESIGNATION OF CEO BRENDAN EICH

PUBLIC STATEMENT AND REQUEST FOR FORMAL CLARIFICATION BY MOZILLA CORPORATION REGARDING THE RESIGNATION OF CEO BRENDAN EICH

To:  Mozilla Corporation

In review of the recent circumstances which resulted in the resignation of Brendan Eich as CEO of Mozilla Corporation significant concerns of a large number of individuals and businesses have been raised.  Those affected include organizations comprised and representative of those individuals who have changed or seek to change their sexual preference, their supporters and supporting businesses, and individuals and businesses supporting Mozilla and supporting or participating Mozilla employees.  Upon review of details reported in the press and statements made both during and after Mr. Eich’s resignation by Mozilla, our organizations have made the following observations and conclusions:

WHEREAS – Mozilla touts an inclusive, safe environment embracing and defending diversity within its organization, it contrarily allowed for a workplace environment so hostile to Mr. Eich as to pressure him into resignation.

WHEREAS – Mozilla touts inclusiveness within its business, it inappropriately uses personal and private opinions, including non-work related activities, as a justification to allow for a hostile workplace environment in support of internal populist politics and to punish employees for their rightful participation in matters of public policy.

WHEREAS – Mozilla defends the notion of diversity, Mozilla Corporate has clearly taken sides against the American public and an unknown number of Mozilla employees on an issue for which other corporations, such as Cisco and Bank of America, have publicly stated they will ensure employee rights to their own opinion and protect their participation on matters of public policy while maintaining a safe and diverse workplace.  Mozilla has clearly failed in this regard.

WHEREAS – Workplace diversity is commonly accepted to refer to important personal traits such as race, religion, origin, physical ability or disability and ethnicity, Mozilla has opted to inappropriately include in their workplace the irrelevant and often fluid private issue of sexual proclivities making for a hostile working environment for those privately struggling with, objecting to certain behaviors or in the process of changing their personal sexual identity.

WHEREAS – the voting majority of the United States and the majority of nations hosting Mozilla operations have made clear their position on the public policy matter of so-called ‘gay’ marriage, Mozilla has taken an opposing position to their host nations and the voting majority of the US, thus a huge segment of their customers and an unknown number of its own employees.  The opinion of the American public in this regard was made clear in the unprecedented public reaction to incidents with Chick-Fil-A and A&E networks for which Mozilla seems determined to form a trio.

WHEREAS – Brendan Eich has been, and will go down in history as, an individual who has made rarely equaled contributions to society through technological advancement, Mozilla as a technology company appears to be making the statement that improving lives through technology is no longer their primary mission as it permits a workplace hostile to the talent making that mission possible.

WHEREAS – Mozilla’s allowance of this workplace hostility and the loss of Brendan Eich over a minor partisan political issue a priority over their purpose and mission – users, customers, investors and dependent businesses of Mozilla products would seem to want to question the reliability of Mozilla and their invested dependence on Mozilla products.

IN CONCLUSION – We, our members, supporters and supporting businesses call for Mozilla to make a clear statement to its employees as to whether this incident is a dog whistle to all pro-marriage, pro-family, pro-life and religious employees and talent to vacate the company or will Mozilla ensure a truly diverse and safe workplace environment for them.

IN CONCLUSION – We, our members, supporters and supporting businesses call for Mozilla to make a public statement to all of its pro-marriage, pro-family, pro-life and religious investors, users, supporters, personal and business customers as to whether Mozilla holds a discriminatory intent toward doing business with them based on their public policy participation or positions on those policies.

Censorship: Unstoppable

Tell Facebook to STOP Censoring Pro-Family and Conservative Messages

Dear Facebook,

CameronScreen-Shot-2013-07-18-at-9.32.05-PM-e1374197576164Your latest attempt to censor Kirk Cameron’s movie “Unstoppable” is another example of your bias and discrimination towards conservative and pro-family messages. Last Thursday night, Cameron posted on his Facebook page: “Calling all friends of Faith, Family, and Freedom! Facebook has officially ‘blocked’ me and you (and everyone else) from posting any link to my new movie at UnstoppableTheMovieDOTcom, labeling the content as ‘abusive,’ ‘unsafe,’ and ‘spammy!’ I can’t even write the real link here, or Facebook would block this post too!!”

Cameron received a message from Facebook telling him the website’s content was labeled as “abuse” and “unsafe.” Yet, the film’s website does not contain any graphic photographs, video or profanity. “We have been officially shut down by Facebook and unable to get any response from them,” he said. “This is my most personal film about faith, hope, and love, and about why God allows bad things to happen to good people. What is ‘abusive’ or ‘unsafe’ about that?!”

Unstoppable, which is expected in theaters in the fall, aims to answer questions about suffering and recounts the personal experience of a Cameron friend whose son battled cancer. “I would understand if there was something truly unsafe about my stuff,” Cameron told Fox News. “But I would encourage people to watch the trailer. Do you find anything offensive about faith, hope and love in the time of a tragedy?”

In 2012, Cameron was criticized for calling homosexuality “unnatural,” “detrimental,” and “ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.” Since then, Cameron’s public statements and work has been highly scrutinized, now to the extent that non-controversial messages such as those seen in Unstoppable, are seemingly being censored in order to hurt the Christian filmmaker and supporter of traditional family values.

After an outpouring of support from hundreds of thousands of Cameron’s fans, Facebook lifted the block. But this isn’t the first time Facebook has censored conservative and/or pro-family messages:

  • In June 2013, Facebook blocked conservative columnist Todd Starnes Facebook status update: “I’m about as politically incorrect as you can get. I’m wearing an NRA ball cap, eating a Chick-fil-A sandwich, reading a Paula Deen cookbook and sipping a 20-ounce sweet tea while sitting in my Cracker Barrel rocking chair with the Gather Vocal Band singing ‘Jesus Saves’ on the stereo and a Gideon’s Bible in my pocket. Yes sir, I’m politically incorrect and happy as a june bug.”
  • In January 2013, the “Chicks on the Right” Facebook page was shut down after they posted a message criticizing the White House.  “Chicks on the Right,” a conservative website with more than 100,000 fans, reportedly received a notice to the group’s president that she would be locked out of not only her “Chicks on the Right” Facebook page, but her personal page as well. Facebook accused her of violating the company’s standards with one of her posts. Facebook later apologized for the incident.
  • In 2012, Facebook censored pro-life activists who posted an image of a pre-born baby aborted at eight weeks on their Facebook site. To add insult to injury, Facebook had earlier issued an apology to a pro-abortion site for taking down a post that offered explicit instructions for performing a do-it-yourself chemical abortion with the drug Misoprostol, used by doctors to induce labor in pregnant women. The Facebook officials backed up their apology by reposting the abortion instructions.
